8: Bright's Crescent, Grange, Edinburgh

Brief

• A medium-sized back garden.
• Family with two teenagers.
• The clients wanted a sitting area, a pond and a cohesive back garden design.

Solution

• An overgrown yew tree provided a good focal point. I trimmed the tree and hung a swing from its branches, giving a nice place to cool off in the summer sun.
• The entrance to the garden is from the side of the house. I created a more dramatic entrance to the garden and used a pergola to frame the entrance to it.
