Brief

• The garden was very overgrown and had been neglected for years. Extensive groundwork was required in order to clear the space.
• The clients wanted a low maintenance garden with no grass.
• The garden is overlooked by a stylish, contemporary conservatory.

Solution

• I decided to use both wood and stone as the hard landscaping medium.
• The decked area is raised and slightly separate, giving a second sitting area to the garden.
• Two planting areas help divide the garden into different areas.
• The ramshackle fence was replaced with a stylish but simple fence. We surrounded the shed with trellis to distract attention from it.
