11 : Grange, Edinburgh
Brief
- The garden was very overgrown and had been neglected for years. Extensive groundwork was required in order to clear the space.
- The clients wanted a low maintenance garden with no grass.
- The garden is overlooked by a stylish, contemporary conservatory.
Solution
- I decided to use both wood and stone as the hard landscaping medium.
- The decked area is raised and slightly separate, giving a second sitting area to the garden.
- Two planting areas help divide the garden into different areas.
- The ramshackle fence was replaced with a stylish but simple fence.
We surrounded the shed with trellis to distract attention from it.
